Shaving For Chere

Hello all Love Is Bald supporters!!!

St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner!! I know a lot of people have asked if we are doing another shave event? The answer is YES, but it's going to be a little different this year!! All the funds raised will stay local, right here in Wilmington for a young lady going through treatment right now, Chere Rice. She is fighting non hodgkins lymphoma & we want to help her as much as we can!!

So this year's event will be called... Shaving For Chere!! We are absolutely thrilled to announce this event & will be sending out more information & details very soon!!

Sunday, March 17th at Fibber's Public House

The Purple Carpet Event

 Feb. 23rd

Port City Church

This is a unique event in the fact that, the idea came from a 13 year old young lady at Port City Church. She is a very happy and healthy girl that wanted to do something nice for other children her age. She wants to have an afternoon just for the kids and their families. They do not have to worry about a thing, including paying for the event. It's a treat for them to come and enjoy the event.

The event will with a limo ride, a walk down the purple carpet and family photos. We will share a lunch meal together and spend some time involved in games and other fun activities that include animal balloons, face painting and a very special Magic Show.

The Purple Carpet Event

The idea of this event comes from a 13 year old girl in 8th grade (that is amazing) from Port City Church. She told 2 girls in her small group that she wanted to host an event for children with, or recovering from, a terminal illness. The event will just focus on giving these children, and their families and fun-filled time to spend together (away from all the stress of an illness).

They are looking for donations, sponsors and any children related gift cards. Table Sponsors are only $100 so please let me know if you are interested in helping in any of these ways!

Upcoming Love Is Bald Events

Hello Love Is Bald supporters and followers!!

We hope you are all doing well and enjoying this cooler weather. We wanted to let you know about our upcoming events. Love Is Bald is teaming up with several wonderful local businesses to raise some money!!!
Dates are as follows....

October:

Emerald Cuts is doing pink hair extensions for the entire month of October and the funds raised will be going to Love Is Bald!!! They are located at 3333 D Wrightsville Ave in Wilmington. Just let them know we sent you. Call them at 910-791-5210 to make an appointment today!!

 

November 8th, Thursday-

Come to Nicola's located at 5704 Oleander Dr in Wilmington, NC on November 8th!! 10% of ALL sales will benefit Love Is Bald!! Please make your reservations by calling 910-798-2205. Doors open at 5:00pm and they close at 10:00. This includes alcohol so even if you just swing by for and drink and an appetizer...LIB still gets 10% of your tab!!

You have to eat anyways, so why not come support a great cause?!?!

December 2nd, Sunday-

LIB is teaming up with Jack Daniels & Fibber's Public House for a 

Chili Cook-off and Bourbon tasting!!

Place: Fibber's Public House located at 1610 Pavillion Place Wilmington, NC.  910-256-0102

Judging Time: 1:00-5:00

The way it works: Anyone can enter a pot of chili. Entry fee will be $20. Note: If you enter a chili, you (1 Person) get to do both tastings for free!! You must have your chili at Fibber's Public House by 12:30pm on Dec 2nd and it must be hot & ready for tasting.

Where do I sign up: call Brian Pluto at Fibber's on Monday or Thursday from 3:00-8:00

To do the chili tasting: $10.00 fee

To do the bourbon tasting: $5.00 fee

There will be raffle items, a 50/50 Raffle and a prize for the winner of the Chili Cook-off. So grab your friends and come to Fibber's Public House on December 2nd!! Enter your special chili or just come to watch football...either way you will be supporting a great cause. There will be great drink specials with a percentage going to LIB.

We will be able to donate $10,000 to Pretty In Pink and $1,000 to Be The Match.
